1965 Airstream Tradewind
For sale is a dual axle airstream from 1965. This was purchased with the intent to rebuild it and keep it. Instead I rebuilt it and need to get ride of it because I moved to the city and have no place to store it. I have rebuilt it over the past 5 years with nearly every major system taken apart and remodeled. The only original pieces of this are the aluminum skins and the steel frame. I did a "full monty" remodel (see pics on my website) which means that i lifted the aluminum shell from the frame, removed the old flooring, reinforced (welded) some areas of the steel frame (although it was remarkably intact), treated the frame with POR15 rust preventative, installed new subfloor, installed two new torsion axles with brakes, new tires, and re-attached the skin to the frame. Additionally the airstream has aluminum foil insulation in the walls, ceiling and under flooring and has fiberglass insulation in the radiused caps.
Electrical: The trailer has new AC and DC wiring. 120 household sockets are positioned in the interior (4) and exterior (1). The electric system is controlled by a New Progressive Dynamics AC/DC dist. panel.
Solar power system (85 watts) is wired to the electrical system and keeps the battery charged when the sun is shining - features a charge controller and two new trojan golf cart batteries as well as an auxiliary marine AGM battery.
Power inverter is a brand new 1800 watt modified sine.(Needs to be settup)
Lighting features recessed LED lighting cans (warm yellow light rather than the cold blue light) throughout the main cabin and various accent LED lighting throughout the interior as well as exterior.
For water systems: the unit has 20 gallons of freshwater storage with city water inlet and a gravity-fill inlet. The system is pressurized by a shuflo pump that is brand new. All plumbing is pex with crimped attachments. Water heater tank is an older model and needs to be tested (may need servicing, i never got a chance to hook it up).
Blackwater system has a tank (20 gallons
