Rally in Baker City, Oregon - Baker Heritage Museum

There is a rally in Baker City, OR (Wally Byam's hometown) to commemorate his birthday on July 4th. It runs from 7/1 - 7/5. Anyone planning to attend? I've not been to a rally yet but it seems like it would be a lot of fun! This one will be held next to the Baker Heritage Museum where they have an exhibit called "Wally Byam & his Airstreams".

Well I don't have my airstream yet but I'm thinking of going in hopes of some wonderful people giving me a tour of their trailer.
I'm sure all the people in the want ads are tried of me stalking them. I need to look inside lots of them to figure out what I want. The dealers of the new AS now know me by name.
I tought if I went to the rally I could get to see some up close.
I need to pick some brains as far as kitchens go and how easy they are to cook in.
anyway...I might be there....the only wondering around

Would be a great event to attend even if you do not have one yet, by all means if you can go you should.

I don't have my airstream yet either but I am of the same mindset as you Meredith - I would love to just take a tour of all the available trailers. I would especially like to see how people custom build their interiors!

    Travller,
We should get together and form a tour of homes! That would be so much fun. I want to see how they have decorated them and made them work for them. When people post pictues of the inside of thier AS I always want more! But I'm also the person who has a ton of kids and I love to walk them up the front of homes when they trick or treat at Holloween so I can see inside the house! LOL!!!
    So people POST more pictures!

"Wally Byam did it, and it wasn't to promote his product."

I believe there was a promotional element to it and there is
    absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Op-Ed: Wally Byam Was A Real Humanitarian

Not very many travel trailer companies can boast the kind of humanitarian
success that Wally Byam achieved when he invented the Airstream Trailer.
Not very many CEO's today will go on large travel trailer expeditions across
the US, or foreign countries, to bring friends and families together to
promote harmony, peace, and new adventures.

Wally Byam did it, and it wasn't to promote his product. He did it because
he truly loved people more then he loved money. Today the world needs
more CEO's who are like Mr. Byam. Men and women who are willing to roll
up their sleeves to promote goodwill instead of always rolling up their
sleeves to increase their financial earnings. What a positive difference that
    would make for humanity.
