    Caught in a deluge

Man! I just got back from a trip to my sister's house. It's been pouring down rain all day today, and I had to go through area after area where the waters were over the road and all the ditches alongside the road were filled. Fields had turned into lakes. What do people do when they're out camped in Airstreams and others small RV trailers when the water rises that high? Besides pray, that is.

I was camped in my Airstream in Jackson, MS in a camp ground where the buildings were built on stilts due to the common occurance of flooding in the area. During a downpour there, we decided to leave at 3 a.m. It was good that we did, as we learned later in the day that the area had flooded!

That is not fun. I was in Dothan, Alabama one time, and the rain was coming down so hard I couldn't see to keep driving. I pulled off under a bridge and spent the better part of an hour praying no one would run into me. Luckily, the weather cleared enough for me to get to visibility and higher ground. I thought, never again.
