From Mont-Tremblant, QC to Comox, BC and beyond...

Hi guys, just some words to introduce ourselves here. We finally did it again, we move back West after 4 long years of Eternal Neutral wait. We tried Vancouver in 2005 and drove back East after 10 months... soooo expensive that Lady. We flew back West several times to analyze how we would really move West soon after. The idea was obvious when we saw that people were living aboard boats and Rvs on Vancouver Island. We wanted a brand new Airstream but after several trips out of La Belle Province to Ontario, New York State and New Jersey we realized that these new cans have no souls... sorry but it is true. We bought Sure-Lay in April 2011. She was in London, Ontario when we were there in 2010 but the IDEA back then was a new unit, not a project. The 31 footer looked in very good shape so I decided to bring her home not knowing exactly what to do with it. After one week of staring at her we consider her like the perfect GETAWAY plan to BC. We stripped her to her bones, cleaned & brushed every piece, replaced or restored the main system except the electrical system. Sure-Lay is almost like she was in 1972, maybe better ! We converted one of the twin bed ( Sure-Lay is a rear bathroom layout ) into a dinette and upgraded the front lounge area... You should see her, she s very Sexy !

( yes we documented the ENTIRE restoration, she is 90% finished now.)

We left everything back East and we are now living full time in Sure-Lay since November 3rd 2011.
We are parked in Comox, BC.

Congrats and nice work! Sounds like there is no turning back now! We came west to go to school in 1980, and were smitten. Did a career in the military and ended up 80 miles north of where we went to school after living all over the U.S.
