A Paul Newman Tribute
"Shameless Exploitation in Pursuit of the Common Good"
For Paul Newman fans.
Newman was the quintissential & defiant cool character, with more class and style
than most other folks ever thought about. Newman's film resume' contains some of the
best performances ever put on celluloid, yet the film academy of arts & sciences
consistently ignored him until he won his only Oscar in 1986 for The Color Of Money,
which I always felt was on the lower end of his films in regard to quality.
Here are a few of his best......
Hombre [1967]
Based on the book by Elmore Leonard
Directed by Martin Ritt
The Hustler [1961]
Based on the novel by Walter Tevis
Directed by Robert Rossen
Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid [1969]
Directed by George Roy Hill
